| Bio: | I'm a twice divorced mom of 2 sons of whom I am very proud. One is 19 and the other 25. Brian and Aaron, I love you! I've been through a lot of chaos in my life that has brought me to where I am now - a single parent trying to manage house payment, car payment, food, utilities, etc. on a meager paycheck and still have a life. Oh, and thanks to divorce #2 I am without medical benefits. Try managing a life-long mental illnes with no insurance. I was diagnosed as bi-polar in the spring after years of being treated for uni-polar depression and having my medications backfire after about 1.5 to 2 years. Now that the meds seem to be correct, I'm working hard on getting to a state of normal that I can enjoy. Which is NOT to say that I'm a 'dane by any definition of the term. I have had jobs as a quality control manager in a sundae topping factory, a product development specialist for a major (now defunct) food company, a CSR for a medical testing machine and reagent producer, an elemetary school "playground lady," a middle school library assistant and a computer lab assistant for a combined HS/MS in a district that shall remain nameless for now. My current occupation is office manager, computer expert, service assistant, secretary for a financial planner. Oh, did I forget proofreader? My favorite job combined my computer skills, teaching and my love of young people - the lab asst. But the new principal didn't like my principles, so my contract was "non-renewed." A lot of it had to do with my attitude about games. The admins objected to my support of an ad hoc, student created RPG group. Even though we played after my work hours and off premises, they told me I had to stop. I said it was none of their business and I refused. The kids needed some adult grounding to the game and I wouldn't desert them. There were other things, like letting kids pursue non-curriculum research on school computers, letting them "fool around" with assorted applications so they'd get a feel for how they worked...classic ways of learning to use technology. But they didn't see it that way. OK. Done ranting. I have a wonderful lover whom I met at that job. Circumstances have finally come to pass to allow us to move in together very soon. I thought it would be very soon, but that's not happening right now. He is my soul mate and the love of my life, but he has to work thorugh some issues in his life before me to be able to commit to spending the rest of his life with me. Patience, patience, patience. | |
